Some composition mistakes can be fixed through cropping, here is a great list of photo cropping tips if anyone needs it. It's always better to get it right in the camera just to spare your time editing, but that's not always possible.

Rule 1 – These are NOT RUILES, merely composition suggestions.
Rule 2 – Stop cutting and pasting from others articles.
Rule 3 – Stop regurgitating old articles as new.
Rule 4 – All other aspects of photography have moved on – time you did too.
Rule 5 – Schools are meant to educate not perpetuate fallacies.

I learned the photography Rule of Thirds many decades ago in a different form than the one covered in DPS. I wonder if anyone had heard of this version. When superimposing the tic-tac-toe pattern, the center of interest should be where two lines cross.
